Abstract |
The project is aimed at increasing the quality of study programmes in teacher training of physics using information and communication technologies (ICT) in teaching physics. The target group thus includes the current students training to be teachers of physics, those interested in further study, including the courses of lifelong education for teachers of physics in the impact area, and graduates of specialist university programmes interested in gaining further education in teaching physics. The main aim of the project is to renew the study programme, Teaching Physics at the Faculty of Science, Palacky University, and to create courses of further education for teachers of physics in using ICT in teaching physics. The project includes constructing a modern classroom and laboratory to be used by teachers learning to use ICT in teaching physics, and purchasing materials for use in educational courses for all target groups. There are 12 computers in the classroom, all with a fast internet connection, which enable students to learn about a number of possibilities of working with ICT in classes of physics. These possibilities include basic tools for computer measurements (data processing, procedure management), understanding their principles, capabilities, as well as limits; basic tools for modelling and simulations (including internet tools); work in a virtual laboratory, especially in applets/physlets, understanding their capabilities and limits; work in a distant laboratory, ability to use it effectively, to understand its capabilities and limits; and knowledge of appropriate freeware, shareware and software purchased within the framework of the project. The project can further be used in educating students training to be teachers of physics, in the area of ICT, e.g. how to teach students of physics and other subjects about mathematical software. |
